You don't drop a dollar worth of quarters into a parking meter when you're only going to run into your local coffee shop to grab a cup to go. You put a nickel in the meter, buy yourself three minutes, and save the big coins for another day. Relationships -- personal, professional -- are the same.
You don't start your first date with, "I love you," you start with coffee and, "can we do this again?" Building customer relationships take time. Pouring everything you have into a new relationship with your customers is going to overwhelm them (and not in a good way).
